The P Hat

I re-learned something about myself last week.

My perfectionism slows me down and stops me from stepping forward.

Huh! Who would have thought I was a perfectionist? My desk is a little messier than most, and my bedside table? Don't go there.

Thanks to our Corporate Coach, I discovered my little perfectionism secret a couple of years ago and began to create a system to bypass this little fault. I had to, because it in...

Get a coach, invest in yourself

Posted on August 1, 2011 at 10:52 PM Comments comments (0)

If you won't invest in youself, why should you expect your customers to?

Get a coach. He or she will help you hash out your ideas, put processes into place and hold you accountable for your choices.

Our coach helped us double our turnover and quadruple our profit. I couldn't afford it when we started, but I can now!

If y...

Customer Service - it's disappeared!

Posted on July 31, 2011 at 11:04 PM Comments comments (0)

Do you think Customer Service has vanished?

I do too. How many times do you hear someone complain about the service they received? And it's not all about young people either!

At our company The Cartridge Family, great Customer Service is a must, but the term Customer Service is a bit airy fairy.

What is it really? How can you delight your customers?

I define it in 7 main points:

1: Get a coac...

Gonna need my motivation tools today

Posted on January 9, 2011 at 5:11 PM Comments comments (3)

You know those days when you wake up and you just know you don't feel as good as you did the day before? I am having one of those...

It could be related to the fact that "the day before" was Sunday and I had nothing planned but reading in bed and a bit of shopping. And that today is Monday.

(I can hear you all agreeing with me.) That's one of the things I love about my support crew (that's you guys btw).

One of my wonderful friends told ...

A clean slate?

Posted on January 4, 2011 at 5:49 PM Comments comments (0)

Why is it that we get excited about a new year, as though it is a clean slate on which we can create new things; better things than the year before?

Why can't we do that every day? Or every week? Or every month? Oh, or how about every hour or minute? Imagine...

Why do we allow a year to be good or bad? Why can't we wipe the slate clean with every moment?...

My Glassware Thoughts

Posted on November 9, 2010 at 10:45 PM Comments comments (2)

I was talking with the lovely Jen, from Jen's Studio this morning. Jen sold me some beautiful glassware for Christmas presents and I got to thinking about energy and glassware. Jen heats her glass and adds pretty colours, shapes the glass into her desired mould and then lets it cool. Voila! She then has a solid, pretty item to use or sell. She makes platters, bowls, jewellery and other wonderful things.

Life is a bit l...

Speaking authentically

Posted on October 3, 2010 at 8:54 PM Comments comments (0)

I attended (participated?, enjoyed? cried in? learned at? All of the above?) Robert Rabbin's Real Time Speaking course on the weekend. You might know about me that I am not much of a "course gal", but I am sure glad I did this one.

You think I am confident, vibrant, opinionated and well aware of my true self? Yes?

Hmm, well I am. And I wasn't. And I am now.

I often give thanks that I don't know what I don't know. If I had known how m...

Being Grounded and having a successful business

Posted on September 6, 2010 at 9:42 PM Comments comments (0)

What does it mean to be grounded and have a successful business?

To answer this I will turn the question around and first ask, what does it mean to be ungrounded?

Firstly, successful businesses don't prosper when owners (and workers) are not grounded. Scattered employees and bosses who are not focussed on the day=-to-day running of the business miss important connections and details. For example, they might not collect money owed or complete paperwork ...

The Parable of the Temple

The Parable of the Temple

I walked up the deserted steps of the temple. I had heard about the marvelous properties of this particular temple and, world weary and tired, I was keen to be cleansed and healed. There were many steps and my feet were tired and aching.

I reached the final step, and saw, between me and the modest entrance, a shallow ...

Energy Blocks

Posted on August 12, 2010 at 11:13 AM Comments comments (0)

What are energy blocks?

We are all affected by them; they can be ideas that we are stuck in, or attitudes that we cloak ourselves in. They can also be physical cells that stop us from feeling energetic and motivated.

One school of thought is that energy blocks are simply energetic thoughts and physical cells that we have forgotten about.

Energetically (as in thoughts and beliefs), if I was to carry a thought that all men are terrible, o...
